These Official Rules apply to every FitStake challenge, together with our Terms and Conditions. If they conflict, these Official Rules apply to the challenge.
1.Sponsor
FitStake challenges are run solely by 9537-2058 Québec Inc., operating as FitStake ("FitStake", "we" or "us"), 295-3551 boul. Saint-Charles, Kirkland, QC H9H 3C4, Canada.
2.Who can enter
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that's higher.
- Taking part in paid contests of skill must be legal where you live. Paid challenges are void where prohibited, and we may block them in any country, state, province or region.
- You may have only one account. Accounts can't be shared or transferred.
- Employees of FitStake and members of their household may not enter paid challenges.
We may ask you to verify your identity, age or location at any time, including before paying out winnings. If you can't, you may be disqualified.
3.A contest of skill
FitStake challenges are contests of skill, not games of chance. Whether you win depends only on your own effort: completing the daily target on every day of the challenge. There is no random draw, and no other player's result can make you lose. Everyone who finishes wins.
4.How to enter
Before you join, the challenge screen shows the exercise, the daily target, the start date, how many days it runs, its time zone and the entry fee. Everyone in a challenge pays the same entry fee.
- You join by paying the entry fee through our payment processor, Whop, before entry closes.
- Once a challenge starts, nobody new can join.
- You can be in up to two challenges at a time.
5.The daily target
Each challenge has one exercise and one daily target, for example 50 push-ups, a 2-minute plank or 8,000 steps. You must hit the full target on every day of the challenge, from the first to the last.
Each day runs from midnight to 11:59 p.m. in the challenge's time zone, as shown on the challenge screen. A short grace period after midnight lets reps completed before midnight finish uploading. It doesn't give you extra time to exercise.
6.How reps, holds and steps are counted
- Push-ups, squats and sit-ups are counted live by the in-app camera rep counter. Keep your whole body in frame and use full range of motion. Partial reps aren't counted. You can split the target into as many sets as you like.
- Planks are timed live by the in-app camera. Only time spent holding a correct plank position counts.
- Steps are read from Apple Health on iPhone. Steps sync each time you open FitStake, so open the app after your last walk of the day, before the day ends.
The count recorded by FitStake is the official count. Camera video is processed on your device and is never uploaded.
7.Missing a day
If you don't hit the target before a day ends, you're out of the challenge and your entry fee goes into the prize pool. The same happens if you leave a challenge, delete your account during it, or are disqualified. Only enter with money you can afford to lose.
8.Winners and the prize pool
Everyone who hits the target on every day of the challenge is a winner. The prize pool is made up only of the entry fees of players who didn't finish. It is not funded by FitStake, Apple or Google.
When a challenge ends:
- Every winner gets their full entry fee back.
- FitStake keeps 25% of the forfeited entry fees as its platform fee. We never take a fee from a winner's own entry fee.
- The other 75% of the forfeited entry fees is split equally between all winners, rounded down to the cent.
If everyone finishes, everyone gets their entry fee back and FitStake takes nothing. If nobody finishes, FitStake keeps the whole pool.
Example. 100 people join with a $10 entry fee, and 30 miss a day. That's $300 forfeited. FitStake keeps $75 (25%), and the remaining $225 is split between the 70 winners: $3.21 each. Each winner gets $13.21 back.
The size of each share depends on how many players enter and finish, so the final amount isn't known until the challenge ends. The app shows a live estimate while the challenge runs. Results are usually final within a few hours of the challenge's last day ending in every time zone.
9.Claiming your winnings
- Winnings go into your FitStake wallet automatically. There's nothing to claim.
- You can withdraw once your balance is at least $10, to PayPal or as a gift card through Tango.
- We may hold a withdrawal while we verify your identity or review your account for cheating.
- You're responsible for any taxes on your winnings.
10.Refunds and cancelled challenges
Entry fees are not refundable, except in these two cases:
- A medical condition, with proof. If an injury or illness stops you from safely completing a challenge, email us a note from a licensed healthcare professional confirming you couldn't safely exercise on the relevant dates. Send it before the challenge ends or within 14 days of the day you missed. If we approve it, your entry fee goes back to your wallet.
- FitStake cancels the challenge. We may cancel a challenge, for example because of a technical problem, too few entries or suspected fraud. If we do, everyone's entry fee goes back to their wallet.
11.Fair play and disqualification
Every rep, hold and step must be done by you, live. Using someone else, recorded or fake video, step-shaking devices, modified apps, multiple accounts or any other trick to fool the counter is cheating.
We may review suspicious activity. If we find you've cheated or broken these rules, we may disqualify you, cancel your winnings (including ones already paid) and close your account. Your entry fee then stays in the prize pool.
12.Apple and Google
Apple Inc. is not a sponsor of, and is not involved in any way with, FitStake challenges. Apple does not endorse, administer or provide any prize for any challenge, and has no responsibility for any challenge or for any prize paid out.
The same applies to Google LLC. FitStake challenges are run solely by 9537-2058 Québec Inc.
13.General conditions
- FitStake is not medical advice. Check with a doctor before starting any exercise program, and stop immediately if you feel pain. You take part at your own risk.
- We're not responsible for entries or reps lost because of phone, network or camera problems, or because Apple Health didn't sync.
- Our decisions on counts, winners and disqualifications are final, subject to any rights you have under the law.
- We may update these Official Rules. Changes never apply to a challenge you've already joined.
